Aviation New Group/NY • Thomas Rouse • August 30, 2009

Jetworks Corporation, a respected leader in private jet travel, announced this week that they are making their Z Select pre-paid flight card that had been previously reserved for its most active Z Card holders available to the private flying public. Chairman and CEO, Michael Hyde claims, "It was time to make our Z Select pre-paid flight card available to all private jet fliers as it saves thousands versus our competitors and our members fly more hours." Hyde said he considers one of Jetworks primary responsibilities is to offer fair, responsible and fully transparent pricing so that its members know the real cost of private jet travel.

Z Select card holders are billed by the trip and not by the flight hour resulting in substantial savings versus any other pre-paid flight card in the industry today, Hyde claims. Frankly, Hyde says, "Our new members are surprised to learn how many more hours they can fly with a Jetworks Z Select card." The company also offers an individual Z card for $1,000 per year and a Z Corporate card for $2,500 per year for its on demand charter members. Asked how the company has faired during 2009, Hyde replied, "Business has been steady throughout 2009 largely due to our loyal membership who have become our friends over the years and we have been able to pass through significant savings to them due to ample fleet availability". The company has twenty-two offices in four countries and can be reached through either of its web-sites at

The difference in the Jetworks Z Select pre-paid flight card (available in increments of $75,000) and ALL other pre-paid flight card providers is that Jetworks charges by the trip and NOT by the flight hour. Our members get to see and approve in advance what the actual trip will cost on the actual aircraft they will be flying on before taking flight.

Our existing Z Select members will attest that they have saved $1,000s of dollars vs. any of the other pre-paid providers as they see in advance what the actual per hour flight rate will be for every flight which is priced in advance for each trip and their Z Select account is only debited after they approve the costs. Advantage Jetworks.

$75,000 as a Z Select account minimum was arrived using our actual membership historical usage of their Z Select account which has been the average cost of three trips. We have learned over the years that all of our services and commitment to detail are fully revealed after the first three trips and we have never lost a member after which. Let us make a commitment to you.

Become a Z Select member today and find out what our members already know which is a real commitment to service, safety and price on each and every trip.

with Michael Hyde, chief executive officer ofJetworks, a private-jet membership company

By Christine Davis | Special to Today's Local News

Michael Hyde, the 54-year-old chairman and chief executive officer of Jetworks, a private jet membership company that calls McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad one of its many homes, provides a fact-based reason for area residents to explore the world of private aviation for business and leisure travel.

In layman's terms, could you please explain the concept of private aviation?
Private aviation was invented by the military for the military and usually was only enjoyed by those who could afford the luxury of private air travel. In recent years, however, private aviation, a multi-billion dollar global industry, has evolved into an efficient business tool driven by the time value of money. Today the major segments of the private-jet travel industry can be broken down into whole aircraft ownership, a variety of fractional ownership programs, charter programs and on-demand charter programs. On-demand charter programs remain the best option for those with minimal flight requirements; there's no upfront or advance purchases or deposits for flight time because you pay by the hour for your flight. If your travel is efficient and you use it wisely, chartering can be the most cost-effective way to go.

Who is your typical client?
The biggest misconception about the industry is cost and who uses it. Certainly celebrities, politicians, athletes, the music industry and leisure travelers all fly with Jetworks, but more and more middle management are seeking private-jet solutions as well. There are over 5,000 private jet ports in the United States compared to 500 commercial airports, allowing the business traveler to fly closer to a specific destination. The same holds true for travel in Europe where there are 3,000 private jet ports compared to 300 commercial airports. Quality of life and productivity are two main reasons more businesses are chartering flights. As an example, if you have an appointment in Dallas tomorrow morning you have to leave today to get there on time, sleep in a strange bed away from your family, all of which results in lower productivity and focus. Alternatively, you can depart from Palomar airport in the morning, make your meeting in Dallas and return home in time for dinner with your family. More companies are valuing quality of life issues for their employees and for themselves.

Are chartered flights as safe as commercial flights?
More so. According to the (Federal Aviation Administration), one in four commercial flights are either cancelled, delayed or diverted. They have also predicted that there are 250 million more air travelers predicted worldwide within the next 10 years with only a three percent investment in commercial airport infrastructure. You may have seen on "60 Minutes" the report that there has been a 47 percent increase in commercial runway incursions (planes being in the wrong place at the wrong time) since 1997.

How would someone choose a private jet company?
If you are going to fly private, you have to invest in a relationship with a quality provider. You need to know the aircraft, the pilots and the real costs. Know the certification firms certifying their aircraft and how they address issues related to quality, safety, pilot training, maintenance and more. Make sure their safety standards not only meet but exceed FAA requirements. Investing in a relationship with a private-jet provider that flies your family and employees is paramount in ensuring safety and transparent, fair pricing. Jetworks offers its members access to a fleet of 1,700 pre-certified private aircraft of all sizes positioned worldwide.

Did you know?

Four billion dollars per year is lost due to commercial flight delays, cancellations or diversions.
- Air Transport Association

The average travel time for a commercial airline trip of 500 miles or less is the equivalent of driving to your destination at 55 miles per hour.
 -NASA

Flying privately for business saves a month of travel time per year versus commercial air travel.
- JD Power and Associates
